Malaysia tourism ministry has started issuing identifications card for expatriates participating in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) program.
This cards can also be use for things like applying for a credit card or insurance. In the move rebranding, MM2H participants are allow to invest actively and work in critical areas where Malaysian did not have the expertise and extending five-year social visit passes issued earlier to 10 years.
Foreigner married to Malaysian citizens will also have a choice now to join the program. There are now 12,000 participants in the MM2H programme, with most coming from China, Bangladesh and Britain.

I recently read that one of the reasons the MM2H programme was being rebranded was because the programme was attracting the “wrong” type of applicant. I was wondering what is the “right” type of applicant?

We will never know who “fit” within those terms. I’m sure they actually want “professional” from abroad to live here.
